I’m Nataliia Starzhynska. I work under my own brand, ShanaStars.
My path into software began in 2006, with tools I wrote to automate my own photo processing. In April 2007, I began working on a commercial software platform for mobile services.
Today I develop and maintain web and server-side software. My earlier work in photography, especially jewellery, remains part of the story behind ShanaStars.

Where does the name ShanaStars come from?
Shana is a playful rearrangement of syllables from Natasha, a form of my name I used earlier. Stars combines a nod to my surname, Starzhynska, with the English word “stars”. The name stayed as my work moved from photography to software.

Contributed to the development, operation and maintenance of a software platform for remote digital content sales and informational SMS services for subscribers of Life, a mobile operator in Ukraine.
The platform combined CRM, order management and billing functions. It supported ordering images, ringtones and melodies through SMS, WAP and Web, processing subscriber service commands, checking account charges and handling customer enquiries from multiple channels.

Since 2014, I have been working on the BMS platform with a team sharing a common vision. My contributions include defining tasks and implementing individual modules. Since late 2023, I have continued this collaboration as a self-employed developer, supporting corporate BMS clients.
The first BMS versions entered service in 2006. The system was developed to meet the needs of providers operating under the IT-TV® brand.
BMS (Billing Management System) brings together CRM, billing, call centre operations, service requests, topology, diagnostics and analytics. It is used by providers across Ukraine and service companies working with providers and their customers.
A substantial part of BMS business logic is implemented directly in PostgreSQL. Functions, triggers and checks connect service states, work requests and charges, maintaining data consistency.

Since early 2024, I have been exploring artificial intelligence and autonomous agents for programming and integration into software services. Since 2025, I have been actively using them in my day-to-day work, working with open-weight models and proprietary models from leading AI developers. I have hands-on experience deploying models and agent systems locally.
I continue to deepen this knowledge to improve my own productivity and help partners and clients create new services, automate routine processes and optimise operating costs.
